Chakra Clearing - A How To

I'm sharing an easy yet PROFOUND exercise in this vlog that has changed my life significantly in the short time I've been practising it. It's a meditation focused on clearing, cleansing, and balancing your chakras (your body's energy centres).

Since I've been practising this meditation regularily, I've noticed several things. Formerly, I've seen only blue 'angel lights' (energetic sparkles and flashes that can be seen by the naked eye) - now I'm seeing them more frequently, more intensely, and in both purple and blue. I feel clearer and can sense my intuition much more strongly - I'm also extremely trusting of this intuition now. I just know it's accurate, whereas before I would second guess myself. Finally, I'm feeling more joyful and connected than ever before.

I wonder - what kind of changes will you experience when you begin to cleanse your chakras regularly?

Energetic Breathing Room - Cutting Cords

Breathing room. We all need it. We need space away from our friends and family to unwind, we need hot showers to cleanse and recharge, and we we need to let go of people and situations that no longer serve us if we are to stay sane on this crazy, lovely planet we call earth.

But what does this mean energetically? How can we give ourselves breathing space in the metaphysical world? How can we ensure that we're working with our karma, and only our karma, on this healing journey? How can we energetically BREATHE in hectic environments like offices, family gatherings, and even cities?

I will tell you my fine friends. I've come up with a 3 part system that will allow you to get rid of other people's crap so you can start living your own life. I'll share these 3 exercises in, you guessed it, 3 blog posts - this one being numero uno.

So what's the first step to breathing room? Cutting Cords! Cutting cords is an easy, yet incredibly powerful, metaphysical tool all of us need in our magical toolbox. It cuts toxicity out a relationship, whether that relationship is to a person, a situation, a substance, or even a belief.

For instance - doing this with my mama has been very helpful. I love her dearly, but she tends to be slightly overbearing at times, offering her own beliefs and attitudes when I'd rather chart my own course. (Can you relate sisters?) No problem. I simply do the following exercise (and often mind you, as cords have a tendency to reattach) and I feel better!

Cutting Cords

1. Visualize a person, substance, or energy in question, that you feel is not serving you in some way.
2. See a cord connecting you to this energy. It can look like whatever you want it to.
3. Ask either your inner guide or Archangel Michael to assist you in cutting any cords of negative attachment to this energy. See either golden scissors (inner guide) or a flaming blue sword (Michael) cutting this cord. Watch as it falls to the ground.
4. Fully get rid of it. Maybe you choose to see white, purple, or deep blue light dissolve the remnants of this cord. Perhaps an angel takes it away to the light. If you feel like that's not thorough enough, you can see an angel yanking it out of you, and sending it away.

And that's it, you're done! Trust your intuition, and cut cords with whomever you may need to. Earlier today I had a client who needed to cut cords with society's masculine and overbearing idea of what strength was. It can be that broad.

And remember, cutting cords doesn't necessarily mean you're kicking that person or energy out of your life. It simply means you're kicking the toxic to unveil the truth of the relationship - love and health. Happy cord cutting!

Fairies - The Real Deal

Fairies are:

a) Mythical creatures with pretty wings and mischievous attitudes
b) Childhood fantasies who brought you gifts as a child in exchange for your teeth
c) Real beings, also known as Nature Angels, who can bring marvellous balance and joy into our lives

10 years ago my answer would have been b)
2 years ago my answer was a)
Today, c) is my undoubted truth. (Thank Goodness! They have helped me in so many ways)

Fairies are Nature Angels whose job is to take care of the environment, and animals, and to help all those who join in their cause. They are playful, easy going, and sensual, yet can have a fiery temper when their home - the earth, and it's children, are not respected.

Although many people believe in Angels, work about fairies and their friends still sits upon 'mythical' sections in bookstores. Fairies, however, are real, they simply live in a different dimension that us - one that is partly physical and partly spiritual in nature. They're constantly reaching out to us as, as they need our help as much as we need theirs. You see, the fairies' power is being destroyed as we pour more and more pesticides over the earth, cut our grass to snubs, and roll an ever increasing amount of pavement onto top soil. The wild places are the homes of the fairies, and without them, they cannot survive.

So, as we come to an energetic fork in the road, we must choose - are we willing to believe in what society has deemed crazy? Are we willing to look into our hearts for the truth? Or shall we move robotically with the crowd, as more and more of our magic is stripped away from us everyday?

Let this be our call to action. May we find a window of opportunity to spend time in nature, and ask the fairies if they in fact, do exist. Ask them to send you signs - real, tangible signs, in the physical realm which you can easily interpret. The fairies have given me the following signs for you to look for - be especially mindful if they show up out of the blue, or over and over again. Signs from the spirit world are decidedly subtle.

Squirrels, Rainbows, Bells, Dragonflies, the Numbers 222 Flowers in Bloom, Wings, Rose Quartz and/or any other signs that you personally identify with fairies.

As you receive these wonderful messages, I will be writing more posts on how you too can easily interact and benefit from their balancing, joyous energy.

With love and gratitude. xx

Purge to Feel Brand Spanking New

Sometimes in life we can feel bogged down. Not sure of what our next step should be, we wander around, feeling a little lost, losing our passion moment by moment. This happened to me recently - so what did I do? PURGED! It was awesome - I got sick, spontaneously cut my hair, got rid of clothes, organized, swept, and saged.

If you're feeling the need to let go of some dead weight like I was, this vlog is for you. (Plus you get to meet my cat, Ginger Beans)

Gluten Free Garlic Onion Bread

Yesterday I felt crafty. And I felt hungry. For bread.

So I decided to create my very own recipes for gluten free bread, using coconut flour - an ingredient I've never worked with before. I tried out two loaves - one in the bread maker, and the other in the oven. While one was a ginormous flop (literally, after I took it out of the bread maker it lost all shape and melted) - the other was DELICIOUS, and my roommates and I devoured most of it within hours.

It turned out more as a loaf, than a bread though, which makes it totally serve-able for lunch or dinner (with a side of raw soup or a salad maybe? - how delish!)

So here it is - Garlic Onion Bread - in all it's gluten free glory:

3 Free Range Eggs
3 Tbsp Ground Chia
9 Tbsp Water
1 Onion - Pureed or Finely Chopped
2 Cloves of Garlic, Shredded
1/3 Cup Coconut Oil
1/2 Tsp Sea Salt
2 Tbsp of Blackstrap Molasses
3/4 Cup Coconut Flour

*Note - I used all organic ingredients, which makes a big difference both for taste and energetics

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.  Whip eggs with a fork.
3.  Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Add more water or flour as needed to get your desired    consistency.
4.  Grease a small baking dish with coconut oil, add the dough.
5.  Bake for 40 minutes.

Dairy Free Survival Guide - When Dairy Stops Loving You Back

I was recently talking to a friend who had just discovered a dairy intolerance, and she was lamenting how much the revelation was affecting her. “How do I live without dairy”, she asked, “It’s just so good!” I told her once she committed to it, it would be easy - understandable her next question was - “But what about CHEESE?!”

Granted, cheese is a tough one to reproduce vegan style, but there are ways. I’ve been living mostly dairy free for years now, because, frankly, it makes me feel like shit. And it’s really awesome NOT to feel like shit, and that’s why, my friends, it’s really awesome to live without dairy.

Almonds make a super tasty milk alternative.

Here’s my survival guide for those of you who suspect that dairy is no longer returning your longtime love.

1. Coconut milk

Godsend. Seriously. Coconut milk is creamy, delicious, and much tastier than regular old milk. It’s especially good for coffee and tea, as almond and rice milk are usually much too watery to convert your morning beverage into a creamy treat. Just make sure you don’t overdo it - a few tablespoons a day is plenty.

2. Almond (Cashew, Sunflower Seed, Pumpkin Seed, Hemp, etc.) Milk

Almond milk was my go to for a while, and I still love it, though I prefer the homemade kind the best now. Even though the storebought brands are much better for you than milk, they’ve still been processed in order to sit on a shelf for long periods of time. Try making your own nut milk - it’s super easy. Soak raw almonds overnight. Then add them to 3-4 cups of water. Blend the two ingredients together, and sift it through a strainer or cheesecloth. Add a dash of salt, some vanilla, cinnamon, and maybe even maple syrup to the final product and you’ve got the most delicious milk of all time. See the links above for more recipes.

3. Nutritional Yeast

Ah yes, nutritional yeast, my love. Nutritional yeast is one of your new replacements for cheeses. You can throw it on pizza, popcorn, toast, wraps, even on salad, and it adds a unique flavor that somewhat mimics what you may love about cheese. It’s also good for you, which is a major plus. Find it at most natural food stores.

4. Avocado

Of course, avocado. It’s fatty (in the good way), flavourful, and delicious on pretty much everything. Salads, wraps, toast, pizza, rice, pasta, sandwiches, the list goes on. Add a dash of sea salt to bring out it's ultimate flavour.

5. When You Just Gotta Have Some Cheese

All right, I get it, cheese is unbelievably delicous. It just is. Sometimes you may crave it just a little bit too much to grab that avocado, and thats ok! In times like these, opt for goat cheese, or feta, and make absolute sure it’s organic. Factory farmed cows produce non-organic cheese, and the energy of that product will throw your system way out of whack. Organic goat cheese and feta are much easier for your body to process than the regular stuff, so if you end up having a bite every week or two, it’s not the end of the world. Just make sure to observe how you feel afterwards.

A Meditation For Intense Emotion - When Tears Are Necessary

The next time something or someone triggers a deep emotion within you, whenever you can, find a place you can be alone in.

As you breathe deeply, experience the feelings that this situation or person has brought up for you. Know that this pain is not a product of an external situation, but rather a deeply buried collection of memories that has been triggered by outside circumstances.

As you shift your focus from perceiving this outside circumstance as the source of your pain, drop the visions of it.

Let go of the need to constantly relate this pain to that outside person or situation, and instead go inward.

Focus on the pure feelings of the moment, and nothing else. What do they feel like? Where are they in your body?

Breathe into them.

As you do this, let the feelings pour out of you in the form of tears, sobs, screams, or punches to the pillow - whatever - just let it out!

When the intensity of the emotions begins to subside, say to yourself, lovingly: “I acknowledge what once was, and send it into the light now. I love and accept myself completely, and release these feelings into the infinite loving universe, trusting that that are now healed in the love and light of the divine’s truth.” Say this as many times as you need to.
