A Free Write, From My Soul to Yours

What to do, when it has come for you?

The Kundalini.

Art by Charles Bergquist

When the time has come for your desires to unfold within themselves, what happens?

Who stoked your inner fire when the flame has burned higher and higher, taking over houses, spaces, places, until the roar of an emblazoned horizon takes over the totality of your existence?

When the maniacal lover explodes a part of you, you always knew existed, but never knew how to access. Now, you’re not sure if you want to access it. But the time has come anyway, and you must walk through.

Courage and patience and fierceness and love. How to be so strong, so full, so fiery, how to be so light, so loving, so flowing?

When it’s on, it’s on.

The fever for expression burns within you. The stationary child writhes within, agony as that which you desire is not coming to you in the exact moment. Heart happiness and genuine good vibrations share space with a fiery, frantic anticipation. Every day. Every day. Energy becomes intense, and sometimes it feels like it’s too much to bear.

All encompassing.

What do you do when you desire something so badly, and it doesn’t take form? What do you do when you know it’s only a matter of patience and divine timing, but you want it now?

How do you handle the urge for something so much greater than yourself?

Observe.

Honour that one day this will seem far away.

This too shall pass.

Be present with the humanness of it all.

Be present with the cosmicness of it all.

Be grateful for the chance to feel so much, so deeply, so fully, so ravenously, when so many at this time are sleepwalking.

And channel that furiousity of feeling into projects which have been begging your attention. Do the best you can, with what you have. Be in the energy of that which you desire. Pretend as though it is already happening. Wake up in the morning being grateful for the waves of prosperity that wash over you now. Be grateful for all the golden light in your life. Feel the energy, the vibrations of love before you. Feel the light within you. Honour your space. Honour your timing. Be grateful. Let go of the frantic pace. The clawing, the pulling, the lack. Fill it with love and kindness, tenderness and compassion. Let a new dawn, a new day, come before you now, and live in it’s energy, even when it has not manifested in 3D yet.

Know your power. Trust your feelings. Trust your desires. Do not deem them as wrong, petulant, childish, or foolish. Do not become embarrassed over your quenching for that which you seek. Be in full who you are. Own your emotions, own your feelings.

Create from this place. Honour the steady rhythm of your soul as it meets the energy of desire. Give thanks for that which you have. That which you desire has already arrived.

That which you desire has already arrived.

A Vision of an Angel that Changed Me Forever

My life has taken a lot of turns lately, but moving to Tofino has definitely been the most epic one.

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that while in Hawaii in March, I broke up with my boyfriend and decided to move to Vancouver Island, but I didn’t know exactly where I wanted to move to.

On May 5th, I packed up my car with all of my belongings, and headed west, only knowing that I was going to make Kelowna and Victoria pit stops on the quest through BC.

On September 29th, I finally found my spot and moved into a beautiful new house with 2 of the most awesome girls I could ever ask for.

The time in between those 2 dates, I spent nomading: camping, staying with friends + family, sometimes sleeping in my car, constantly unaware of what my next move would be, constantly changing my mind, trying to follow my heart, even though I was unsure of what it was saying.

Finally the storm subsided, prayers manifested, and I’ve been able to relax. I’m now joyfully settling into my new home. I am absolutely IN LOVE with this place, and since being in Tofino, I’ve already had some really interesting experiences.

The other night, I had a dream.

In it, I was talking to my ex-boyfriend (which totally needs a new title, he is my soul friend through and through) and felt a deep and all encompassing love in my body. He was asking if I wanted to be with him, and though it felt like a part of me was dying, my truth formed the words ‘No’.

As they came out of my mouth, it felt like one of the most tragic things I ever had to do, knowing that I was deeply in love with this being, but I had to say no.

There was someone in the other room who I wanted to be with instead. Interestingly enough, I felt like the soul I was speaking to in the dream wasn’t actually my ex-boyfriend, it was someone from a past life I had known long ago - I was experiencing a recall.

The emotions in this dream were insane. They were more than emotions. They were deep spiritual longings. Upon waking, I was kind of torn up. From the depths, I decided to do a chakra clearing meditation while I was laying down, still between the worlds.

Upon finishing the meditation, I kept going. I asked that the memories from the dream be cleared.

Suddenly, an intense amount of emotional pain surged through me and out of my heart. The release was uncontrollable, and I started wailing. Not crying, wailing. I couldn’t even make any noise I was crying so hard. So much pain was in my body as I remembered this soul I said no to. It’s indescribable the amount of emotion that was present.

As it was leaving, I had a vision that lasted as split second, yet imprinted in my mind with virility. An angel, in the form of a large diamond about 5 feet above my heart appeared. Light shone out of it, and it’s presence was both powerful and peaceful. As this light being was above me, the memory and the emotions shot out of my heart, up into the angel’s diamond. I knew instantly it was taking this from me. Forever healed. Finally ready to come up and out of my system. Finally ready to come home.

And then it was over. Adrenaline still pumped through my veins, but I felt a calm and nurturing energy come over me.

These type of experiences aren’t necessarily unusual for me, yet this particular experience was unique. Every year that I continue on the spiritual path, I have more and more magical experiences. I see more - ex. angels & auras. I feel more - both pain & pleasure. I understand more and yet I embrace that life is really just an all encompassing mystery.

If you’re on this path, and sometimes you question it, like we all do from time to time, all I can say to you is: keep going.

This journey is real, magic is alive, and although it seems that sometimes it only presents itself in certain moments, it is with us everyday.

It is just a matter of when we’re ready for it.

Just a reminder - today is the last day to sign up for the epic spiritual program that is Flower Child.

What I just described to you above is an experience associated with the ‘Priestess’. This archetype and very real historical title will be discussed in our New Moon call with Vanessa Codorniu. If you’re really intrigued with this path and feel connected to the mysticism of the priestess, I highly suggest you sign up. Though our greatest path is inward, we would be nowhere without teachers that have come before us to share their wealth of experience. We need each other. I love you.

Why I'm Crying at a Computer Screen // + How You Can Help Me

I have a bit of a problem.

It’s a good kind of problem, but also a devastating kind of problem.

I got serious beef with chemical cleaning supplies and body products, and it seems everybody uses them. While I love everyone in my life dearly, I often find harsh chemical products in the homes of my loved ones and beyond, and a part of me feels like it dies inside when I see it. No exaggeration. I get really upset and I don’t know what to do about it. So this morning after some chemical dishwashing detergent appeared out of the blue under my counter, I had to get out my computer. I can’t not talk about this. It’s one of the most important choices our generation can make.

Ok, I’ll start from square one...

I grew up in a ‘normal’ household. Tide, Clorox, Windex, Herbal Essences, Colgate - these were the brands I knew. I didn’t give much thought to them - I really had no idea what was in them, it just wasn’t something I thought about.

I remember one time when I was about 12 or 13, my best friend at the time sprayed Windex in my face as a joke. It was supposed to be funny. It wasn’t. I was shocked that she would compromise my well being by doing that.

Moving on from that, it still didn’t click. I knew Windex to be full of chemicals, and I knew I didn’t want it anywhere near me or my body, but if it was in the bucket of cleaning supplies, it was somehow OK.

It didn’t click that all of this stuff was going into our air, and down the drain. City filtration systems are unable to filter out most of the chemical residues. It didn’t click that this stuff was making it’s way into our greater world, and on a big scale.

Fast forward about 7 years. I’m in University, and I’m starting to wake up. I’m learning about the tragedies of the food industry, and what big ag (corporate agriculture + massive conventional farming) are doing to the animals, the farmland, their employees, the surrounding landscapes, and the world. And I’m getting really upset.

I then start to learn about the dead zones of the Mexican Gulf. My life really starts to change. Anger erupts from me, sadness overwhelms me. I’m crying inside. Devastated. Amidst a sea of my old friends who don’t seem to care much, it hasn’t clicked, I reach out to my boyfriend, at that time, the only person in my life who could relate to the absolute devastation a soul could feel at discovering their world is falling apart, and very few people are doing anything about it. Even now, I’m crying, tears shroud the computer screen. I’m still devastated.

The Gulf of Mexico is currently a waste zone. Runoff from huge corporate farms - pesticides, and unnatural amount of manure from cows who are fed an unnatural diet and antibiotics to cover it up, are flowing down the Mississippi river, along with brand name cleaning supplies, shampoos, and the like. This toxic mix has become too much for the earth + ocean to deal with. The runoff has created a place in the ocean where virtually nothing lives. Nothing. There isn’t enough oxygen to sustain life there anymore, the mix of pesticides, antibiotics, and chemical cleaning supplies has wiped all life out. Everyday this ‘Dead Zone’ as they call it, grows larger.

And this isn’t the only dead zone in the world. There are many.

I could go on and on about the things I found in my research. Mass amounts of birds, dolphins, and tons of other animals have been turning up dead. Sometimes all at the same time, all in the same region. Bees. The animals of this planet are dying. They are trying to communicate to us through their sacrifice of life just what our actions are doing.

What can we do about it? Isn’t it the corporations? Surely just an individual wouldn’t have the power to change this?

But the truth of the matter is that empowered individuals of the world are the ONLY ones who are going to change this. Every time we buy natural, local, and organic, we’re choosing to support our planet. Every time we’re buying from the drugstore or conventional supermarket, we are literally poisoning our oceans.

To be honest, the ocean doesn’t have much time. We’ve gotta change things fast. We’ve gotta be shouting on the streets. This isn’t about preaching, this is about speaking for those who weren’t given a human voice.

We are speaking for the whales, the dolphins, the deer, the trees, the bears, the birds and so many more when we choose to buy products that are truly biodegradable and safe for our bodies and our world.

So speak up folks. Change up your shower products, get rid of all the stuff that’s poisonous under your kitchen sink. Go to the health food store, and ask the staff. What are their favourite natural cleaning supplies? What shampoos do they love? Spend your money on them. It’s important. You can also make your own cleaning supplies + more very easily and affordably.

The key thing is: Waiting on ‘someone’ to ‘something’ about it just isn’t going to work this time around. WE are the someones, and DAILY ACTIONS are the somethings.

If you’ve gotten this far, thank you so much for reading this. Deep soul shit, that’s what I call this. But we’ve all got it. This is mine. MUCH LOVE! And thanks for taking action. We need you.

Why Butter Can Be Good For You // A Conversation with Blossom Apotheke

I am VERY excited to be sharing this interview with my good friend Madeline, founder of Blossom Apotheke, with you sistas today.

WHY? Because she has a refreshing and in my opinion, very needed, take on nutrition. Some of her philosophies will make you do a double take, causing you to question why our culture is so into mainstream health fads, rather than listening to our spirits and the wisdom of the ancients. (For example, did you know, butter can actually be GOOD for you? Awesome.)

While some would consider Madeline a nutritionist, she calls herself a modern day medicine woman, and I would agree. Madeline is all about reconnecting with our primal self, through both our dietary choices, and our lifestyle. She values the wisdom that comes from our ancestors, and manages to incorporate it in her day to day life with ease.

I must say, Madeline is also a truly divine woman. Although we only met through mutual friends in the last year or so, already she has been with me through one of the hardest periods of my life. While I was sulking and feeling sorry for myself, she had the courage and light heartedness to support me, and nurture me while I came back to myself, and to the truth of the world. And for that, I will be forever grateful.

Enjoy this interview below friends, and let me know what your favourite point is in the comments below!

If you'd like to know more, Madeline is going to be hosting a phone call with myself and the Flower Children, on the Full Moon in November! She'll be giving us a workshop on Traditional Foods for the Female Body.

If you're into the knowledge she shares below, and would like to go deeper, be sure to sign up for Flower Child before October 4th, and come with a list of questions when we meet! We'll go a lot more in depth on the call.

Lots of love, and happy reading!
xo Beth

What are traditional foods?

Traditional foods are the foods that have nourished our ancestors for centuries if not millennia. They are the foods that our great great great grandparents would have eaten before the birth our our industrialized food system. Traditional foods are wild foraged plants and herbs, pasture raised or wild animals , grass fed dairy, fermented foods and drinks such as sauerkraut or kombucha and organic vegetables. Traditional food wisdom trumps modern diet hype and dogma and quite often goes again the convention ‘food pyramid’ nutritional advice.

Some of these foods we’re told not to eat by conventional nutritionists were actually considered sacred by our ancestors because the nutrients would help boost fertility, nourish women in pregnancy and their developing children.

What are your 3 favourite ways to self-care?

1. Dry brushing everyday with essential oils to exfoliate skin, increase lymphatic flow and circulation. When you dry brush your body it improves the complexion of your skin because the lymph is more efficiently moving wastes out.

 2. Bathing in natural hot springs and jumping in cold wild water as often as I can. I always feel the most alive and energized after a cold water dip.

3. Drinking adaptogenic tea everyday to provide immune system support and decrease stress levels. My favourite herbs to have daily in a tea are Chaga, Reishi and Holy Basil.

What are 3 things any woman can add to her diet and see improved results in her health and energy?

Shatavari: Shatavari is a sacred Ayurvedic herb that has been used for millennia . It translates in sanskrit as ‘She who has 100 husbands’! It’s pretty much THE herb for women in all stages of their lives. Taking shatavari balances the hormones, promotes healthy skin, boosts libido and much much more.

Healthy Fats: Fats are important fuel for our body and having the right ones in the right ratios can make all the difference for your health. Eat an abundant amount of coconut oil, organic butter or ghee, fish oil, olive oil and hemp oil. And avoid canola oil and or vegetable oil.

Herbal Nettle Infusion: Nettles are high in Vitamin K1, iron, calcium, magnesium and silica which are all really important nutrients for women’s health. To make a nettle infusion pour 500 ml of boiling water over ½ cup dried nettles in a 500 ml mason jar. Seal with a lid and let it sit for 4 hours or overnight. Strain and enjoy hot or cold.

What inspired you to start Blossom Apotheke?

Apotheke means apothecary in German. I grew up spending my summers at the home of my german grandparents.

Though my grandmother had passed before I was born she left a beautiful garden and orchard that I used to gather herbs and berries from when I was a young girl and make potions and medicines.

Blossom Apotheke is a platform for my life’s passions of nutrition, herbology and medicine making. I offer nutrition and herbal consults, classes on traditional foods and medicine making and am developing a wildcrafted herbal skincare line.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself living in a cottage on a piece of land with food forests and herbal gardens. Raising a beautiful family with a beautiful man. Living connected with the cycles of nature. Continuing to deepen my path as a herbalist and medicine women. Making botanical perfumes, elixirs and medicines through Blossom Apotheke. And educating about returning to the sacred in it’s many forms.

Behind the Scenes at Flower Child

Pouring Sacred Sea Salts into a Chaga Bath Elixer

Flower Child is one of my favourite things right now.

It's a program for goddesses I launched back in April, that's devoted to sending the most self-loving, organic and wildcrafted products to the women involved.

If you're apart of the Flower Child program, you can look forward to 2 handcrafted beauty and herbal healing products, sent to your door every month. Whether that's a Grounding Chaga Body Butter, or a Heart Opening Chakra Serum, every month's package is unique, and a total surprise! There are no two packages alike.

Therefore, every month, I get to daydream about different recipes and healing concepts, and then, make them a reality with herbs I've harvested from the wild. Raddest job ever. Previous concoctions include a Fireweed Facial Serum (great for inflammation and acne), a cleansing Aura Spray called Smudge in a Bottle and a Fifth Chakra Serum to encourage healthy communication.

Other than the wildcrafted herbs, I use organic oils and essential oils, spring water, and... crystals! Charging up the newly created potions under the full moons energy, along with crystals and prayer, is amazing, and a key part of the process. It's so satisfying to know I'm making sure the women I create for have the highest quality products available to them, products that won't cause any environmental pollution or gross chemical reactions.

This month, I thought I'd share some behind the scenes photos, so you could get a better idea of what the experience is all about!

September marks the final month of the first ever Flower Child - the next one starts in October, and is going to be full of surprises - including bi-weekly Sisterhood Calls with guest experts teaching us about moon cycles, and the Priestess archetype - I can't wait!!

If you'd like to get on the list for the next round (It's only 2 months long this time!) - send me an email at igniteyourtruth@gmail.com, with the subject 'Flower Child' - I'll open spots to those who email me before anyone else!

Fairy blessings!

Your Soul Will Thank Her!

A couple of months ago, I really started to notice the language that was used in the music I listened to. While I loved the rhythm and the vocals of the music I played, I sadly observed that many of the lyrics said things like "I can't forgive you", "My heart's sorrow" etc. As much as I loved the beats, I knew the lyrics of the songs were affecting me, and my angels were pointing out that I needed to listen to higher vibrational tunes.

As my repertoire began changing over, my friend Natalia directed me to a group called the Nectarian Collective. As I was exploring their website, I was drawn to a certain musician called Sea Star.

Her album, Sacred Red, is a pure manifestation of Spirit, Song, and Sea, with the most beautiful and wise lyrics I think I've ever heard. I've become so inspired by her simple melodies with profound vibrations, that I've started to do something I've always wanted to - songwrite! Though it's a slow process of getting through perceived blocks and fears, I know it's a path I'll continue on.

So I invite all my sacred soul sisters to listen to Sea Star's album here, and become more conscious of the words you listen to everyday. Do they align with who you want to be and how you want to feel?

So much love, and happy listening!

Pinspiration // Earth Goddess Home

Pinterest has become such an indispensable tool of inspiration for me - from the images, to the ideas that are stirred from them, I love the way it gets my imagination playing. Inspired by fellow bloggers, I decided a new series called Pinspiration would be a great way to showcase some of the inspiration I've been finding.

This first Pinspiration post features the most wonderful, mystical, and earthy homes I've come across. From the hanging herbs, to the heavy wood details, these spaces remind me just how spectacular the home can be. Do you spot any ideas for your space?

Happy Earth Home Dreaming!

Let Spirit Find You For a While

Loving y o u .

Photo Diary // A Walk in the Woods to a Waterfall

I love photography. It's so grounding to spend time observing and creating, through a lens; interacting with your world in a way that's witnessing and artistic all at once. Sitting down to blog my journey today, after a fresh meal, leaves me reflecting back at all the little moments. From making an incredible tea for my moon cycle, to having my feet in a cool, glacier fed river, the quaint, quiet moments of the day come alive, simply because I took the time to photograph them.

Here's to honouring the little things in your life this week!

The Universe

Photo Diary // Loving my Calgary Connections

Hanging with flowers in an overgrown city park

The past week has been really fun, and also kind of full on. From launching an upcoming workshop, to a clothing swap with my soul sisters, to having an impromptu photoshoot in the park, I've been grateful to have such a rich life.

Although I'm still moving to Vancouver Island, and am just visiting Calgary for July, I've come to realize how much I love what this city offers me. The connections, community, sunny river days, and fun Kensington shopping trips are all a part of what I love about my hometown.

Sending so much love to you this weekend, and perhaps make time to reflect on what you've loved about your past few days!

Photo Diary // Food + Friends!

This week seemed to have been full of food upon looking back in pictures - Woohoo!!

It started off with a genius take on a cake using watermelon instead of flour, and continued at a friend's potluck with a raw nectarine cobbler.

I also had the honour of attending my soul sisters' food tasting, for a mostly raw food truck they are starting up in the city of Calgary. I'm so proud of them and the impact they'll be having on the city - Look out for Yummi Yogis once it hits the streets - and of course I'll keep you updated!

Other than eating deliciously healthy food, I've also been busy shopping for crystals for my limited time offer of custom pieces. I love the process, and how it feels to see a finished piece in all it's beauty - I'm toying with the idea of accepting orders for just a few days 2-3 times a year. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!

Sending love to you all, and here's to a unexpectedly wonderful weekend!

What is a Goddess? + 5 Ways to Be One

What is a Goddess?

Do images of lingerie clad Victoria's Secret models come to mind? Or perhaps intricate portraits of cultural icons?

What does it really mean to embody the Goddess?

Firstly, Goddess energy has nothing to do with appearance, so you can throw the 6 pack boobalicious image out the window. Yes, the Goddess ADORES beauty, and loves to feel sensual, but she operates under no illusion that beauty comes in only one form. Moreover, she realizes her essence - her spirit - and her connection to all life, is her true beauty. The skin, hair, and body of the human physique are beautiful indeed, but they are simply a manifestation of the spirit within.

The Goddess operates from a place of feminine power. This is different than the logical, directive force of the masculine. The Goddess is more gentle, but equally as powerful. She is receptive and nurturing, and she delights in the sensual pleasures of the world.

She accepts her 'flaws' as beautiful, acceptable aspects of the creature she is. Her mission is to be a channel for light and love.

So how can we activate this Goddess energy?

Our world is in need of women to step into their feminine power. The recent few millennia have been dominated by a patriarchal culture, and in order to see the shift we really desire to see in the world (think clean water, people everywhere loving and respecting Gaia, all feeling taken care of and loved) - we Goddesses need to shine. Here are 5 easy ways to let your feminine powerhouse emerge:

1) Get In Touch With Water

Water resonates with our main Goddess centre - our 2nd chakra. This energetic centre just below our navel is all about creativity, sensuality, emotion, and feminine power. It's also associated heavily with the element of WATER, that flowing, delicious force that can be as gentle as a still pond, or as powerful as a torrential waterfall.

When we activate our water essence, we activate our Goddess essence. Try being extremely conscious of your relationship with water. Bless your drinking water, feel the droplets of the shower sensually run over your body, delight in a rain shower, and start to contemplate the life giving properties of this otherworldly elixer.

2) Release Competition

There's nothing that smothers our Goddess essence quite like competition with another Goddess. Although we all do it from time to time, it's best to become conscious of when our mind tells us that we are better or worse in some way than another woman. The Goddess supports, and nurtures. She THRIVES on sisterhood.

Next time you catch yourself in a moment of competition, simply breathe deeply, and give the thought to your inner guide, making a commitment to find at least one delightful quality in this woman, as WELL as yourself. Don't forget to forgive the thought - we've been conditioned that way, after all.

3) Feel the Wind

My friend Madeline at Blossom Apotheke recently relayed a philosophy she loved from a woman she follows - Nature is your best beauty attendant. The wind is your brush, caressing your hair lightly, rousing it in the perfect way. The sun sparkles, and makes you glow. The soil beneath your feet grounds you, and offers you presence. A rainfall is the ultimate spa treatment.

How delicious is that? Get in touch with this way of being by feeling your hair fall gently on your shoulders. Notice how it feels. Pretty sensual right? Make it a practice of feeling the subtle yet exotic way of the little things.

4) Eat Chocolate

Or anything decadent for that matter. But here is the most important part - SLOW DOWN to enjoy it! Feel the silky smooth sweet and bitter play off each other, melting and swirling around your tongue. Make it a practice to, at least once a day, sit down, close your eyes, and do nothing else but enjoy the food as it enters you. This will alight your 2nd chakra. (Pleasure and the 2nd chakra go hand in hand)

5) Honour Sex as Sacred

Sex is a gift. It is a sacred experience of deep pleasure. Orgasm is a portal into different dimensions. An explosion of colour and vibration that can transport you far away, healing you, and delivering much needed information to your soul.

You don't have to be having sex to honour it. You can start exploring teachings of Tantra, of slow sex, you can soul gaze, or have a date night with yourself where you explore your body. You can talk about sex with your friends in an open and vulnerable way, you can get a vibrator and play!

If you are having sex, make sure to discuss the raw spiritual aspect of it with your partner from time to time. Are you on the same page?

And lastly, as a Goddess tip, do not share your body and soul with someone who does not genuinely love you (no matter if you're in a relationship or not). Complex energetic bonding happens during sex, and you will inevitably pick up bonds that you do not want, if mutual respect and love is not there.

Let Sex be Love. The Primal Force is what moves us.

What Happened in the Middle of Nowhere

{To catch up on the first part of the story, click here!}

I had just spent 2 nights in Kelowna, BC, visiting my family, before the road tripping journey continued. I was on my way to Squamish, before I continued onward to the magical place of all magical places - Vancouver Island.

The first day back on the road was a hot one. Traveling through miles and miles of dry, scorching land, left me feeling depleted, although hopeful for the rain forests I knew lay ahead.

My perspective, however, began to change as I started seeing signs for organic coffee shops and grocery stores, literally, in the middle of nowhere. The signs reminded me of the magic and possibilities that lie all around us, if only we open our eyes. Feeling more hopeful, I drove on, passing cows with their babies along the way. In typical Beth fashion, I screamed to myself "I love baby cowsssss!!!"

Upon coming to an intersection, I hesitated. I wasn't sure which way to go - my GPS wasn't working - no service - so I stopped at a small Inn just passed the fork for directions.

Walking into the building, I felt an instant connection. Something about me liked this place. A man soon said 'Hello' to me, welcoming me to the Inn. "Wow, what a great spot I just discovered", I told him, and he replied "Want to see my pet cow?"

I kid you not. Those were the exact words that came out of his mouth.

Obviously, I was STOKED, and proceeded to tell him how much I loved animals, and of course, baby cows.

The cow, named Alder, was only 5 months old, chomping lazily on grass in the backyard, which opened onto expansive views of the river basin and valley below. While I pet the cow, and listened to this beautiful man I just met, I felt supremely blessed. Here I was, in the middle of nowhere, witnessing my hopeful squeals coming to life, while soaking up wisdom from an elder in the environmental movement.

And get this - he'd never brought the cow to the Inn before. First day, first time, it had visited.

After my 10 minute stop turned into a 2 hour visit, I was on my way out, when the Inn keepers told me to wait. A few minutes later, a box of extremely tiny and extremely adorable puppies were placed in front of me.

I pretty much died.

And so it went, I spent the next hour playing with puppies, laughing with new friends, and enjoying the beautiful May sunshine.

I didn't make it to Squamish that day, but it didn't matter. That's the point of life. Plans are fine, but we have to be open to them changing.

Because, honestly, the most amazing adventures await us when we expand our horizons.

The Crystals Are Back! (For a Short Time!) XO

ORDERS HAVE BEEN CAPPED, THANK YOU SO MUCH

This summer has been an interesting one. My quests have lead me far and near, and have brought me to Calgary for 2 weeks just in time for the solstice and the flooding. I wanted to use this time in a way that brought me back to Waves of Fire, and the flow of working on projects I love.

Therefore, I've decided to take about 10 or so orders for my custom crystal necklaces. As most of you know, I decided to stop creating them in October of last year, as my desire for other projects (like working with herbs!) became greater.

However I've been missing the intricate creation process and the profound and elven beauty of a finished piece. I also know that there were many of you who wanted one, but didn't order in time. Here's your chance! I'm not sure when (or if) I'll be doing this again, so please get in touch with me if you feel called to have one created for you.

TAKING CUSTOM CRYSTAL NECKLACE ORDERS

Here's how it works, the process is the same as it was last year save for a couple details:

When you decide to order a custom crystal piece, I will send you a list of questions and ask for a picture, that allows me to feel out your energy, and gives you the opportunity to specify exactly what you're looking for. Do you need help opening your heart? Or perhaps you feel overwhelmed by the frantic vibes of city life at times, and would love a crystal to buffer that energy. Our initial conversations will allow you to get specific.

I then go to my favourite crystal store, Earth Gems, and ask your inner guide, guides + angels to direct me to the perfect crystal for you. This is always a fun process, and one Im really excited to do again!

From there I create your necklace with the crystal. You can specify whether you'd like it long or short, or on a gold, or braided hemp chain. All pieces come with back attachments, that you can detach at your leisure. This helps to balance the energy of the necklace, and is also beautiful!

TO ORDER

I am full on orders, thank you so much :)
